Football Sunday

I had been waiting for football season to arrive since pretty much the end of last football season. I was devastated last week when Dallas, my beloved team, lost to its biggest rival--the Redskins. I thought that surely Dallas would win this weekend over Chicago. There was no doubt in my mind. I was wrong. Another hopeful Sunday, another loss. My hope is dwindling, and I await next weekend with the desperate longing for our first victory.

From an audience's perspective, reading in the first person causes you to put yourself into the narrator's character, and you learn to understand the narrator's attitude towards situations and other characters. Reading in the second perspective, the "you" causes the audiences to read the story from an "I" perspective. There is relatively little imagination needed, as the writer automatically puts you into the character's shoes. The third person removes the reader from him/herself and also from the writer. Every character is referred to as "he/she/they," and the reader is somewhat detached as he/she is transported into another's world.
